Background

On March 18, 2013, the Traffic Safety Commission heard a request to establish TIME LIMIT PARKING in front of 305 E 7^th Street. The request referenced vehicles parking in this area all day long since the temporary relocation of the Library.

Traffic Safety Commission Action

At the Traffic Safety Commission meeting, one (1) downtown business owner spoke in opposition to the request noting that there is a shortage of long-term parking in the area, but there is sufficient short-term parking available within a half block in the parking lot for the Library. No one spoke in favor of the request. A motion to deny the request was approved unanimously by the Traffic Safety Commission, 8-0.

Action Request

It is recommended that the City Commission concur with the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission, if appropriate.
