RE:	Airport Runway Maintenance Project – PW1304 Engineering Service Agreement with Airport Development Group (ADG)

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has informed the City that the Lawrence Municipal Airport has a maintenance project being considered for funding.  The main runway 15-33 is in need of crack sealing, striping, and other maintenance.  

During a review of the condition of the runway with Airport Development Group (ADG), it is being recommended that a surface seal also be completed due to the oxidation of the surface.  The estimated construction cost to crack seal, surface seal, and restripe is approximately $180,000. 

The FAA will fund 90% and the City will be responsible for the remainder.  This will come from maintenance funding and be completed in 2013.

ADG has provided a contract with Scope of Services to develop the plans and complete FAA administration/paperwork in the amount of $16,000.  The City will do the inspection.

Action Request:  Authorize the City Commission to execute an Engineer Services Agreement with Airport Develop Group in an amount of $16,000 for pavement maintenance at the Lawrence Municipal Airport.
