RE:	Status of SUP-12-7-11: Lawrence Community Shelter, 214 W. 10^th Street

Please place the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at their December 4, 2012 meeting: receive update regarding status of move from 214 W. 10^th Street to new facility located at 3701 Franklin Road.

Project Background

A Special Use Permit (SUP-12-7-11) was approved by the City Commission on March 15, 2012 to allow for the extension of a Temporary Shelter to continue operation at 214 W. 10^th Street while a new facility, located at 3701 Franklin Road, is being constructed. This approval allowed the use to remain until December 31, 2012.

The applicant has provided a letter updating the status of the plans to relocate to the new site at 3701 Franklin Road. The LCS does not anticipate needing an extension of the SUP-12-7-11. If this position changes, staff will updated the Commission and determine appropriate action at that time.
