RE:

Alcohol at Color Run Event

 

 

Organizers of the Color Run, scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2012, have requested permission to sell alcohol which would be possessed and consumed on the right-of-way on the 900 block of New Hampshire Street. To accommodate this request, a public hearing for a distance limitation waiver (because the event would be within 400’ of a church) and adoption of Ordinance No. 8788 to allow possession and consumption on the right-of-way are necessary. 

 

The public hearing has been scheduled for September 11, 2012. The Salvation Army has been notified of the hearing. At the September 11 meeting a general update on plans for the Color Run will also be provided.

 

ACTIONS:    Conduct a public hearing; find that the proximity of the event is not adverse to the public welfare or safety; grant a distance limitation waiver; and adopt on first reading Ordinance No. 8788, if appropriate.
