ORDINANCE NO. 8764

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE SALE, POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to City of Lawrence Code Section 4-105(E), the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply on Massachusetts Street between North Park Street and South Park Street from 9:00 a.m., September 22, 2012 through 2:00 a.m., September 23, 2012 associated with the Bike MS event, and shall not apply on Massachusetts Street between North Park Street and South Park Street from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on August 26, 2012 associated with the Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships, provided the sale, possession and consumption are pursuant to City of Lawrence and State of Kansas law.

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
