RE:	Vacation of Right-a-Way 1234 Kentucky Street

On July 24, 2012 the City Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the vacation of the right-of-way located on the northwest corner of lot 142 on Kentucky Street (commonly known as 1234 Kentucky Street).  The owner, St. John Catholic Church, proposes to vacate 15 feet of existing street right-of-way along 12^th Street that was previously dedicated for a through street South Park.  Granting the proposed vacation, would allow for an existing parking lot to be located on owner’s property and not the City’s right-of-way (see attached application, which includes a map). 

All utilities, as well as property owners within 200 feet, were notified.  No objections were received.

Action Requested:     Hold public hearing and, pending discussion, approve order of vacation.
