RE:	Annexation request for 2 separate properties and adjacent right-of-way located in the SW quadrant of the intersection of W. 6^th St/Hwy 40 & Kansas Hwy 10 (K-10).

A letter requesting annexation for 2 properties in the SW quadrant of the intersection of W. 6^th St/Hwy 40 & Kansas Hwy 10 (K-10) was submitted to the Planning Director on July 12, 2012 by the property owner, Gateway West Land Holding Company, LLC. The letter and a map showing the 2 properties, Lot 2, First United Methodist Church Addition and Lot 1, First United Methodist Church 2^nd Plat, are attached.   The subject property is also shown in the graphic below and totals approximately 24 acres.

Per city policy, the request will need to be reviewed by the Planning Commission.  Prior to referring it to the Planning Commission, staff review of the request is necessary to determine how City water and sewer service will be provided to the properties.

Requested Action:

Receive the request and refer it to staff for review and recommendation.
