Busker Fest Right-of-Way Permit

We have received an application for a Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit for the Lawrence Busker Fest in downtown Lawrence from 08/24/12-08/26/12. The application includes statements of support from adjacent businesses. The request is for the following use of the streets and sidewalks:

The applicant has also requested authorization of the possession and consumption of alcohol on the 100 block of E 8th Street (adjacent to the Sandbar) during the event. Adoption of Ordinance No. 8765 would allow this.
ACTION: Approve a Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit for the Lawrence Busker Fest for the use of sidewalks and 10 parking stalls in front of 900 Massachusetts Street, and the closure of the 100 block of E 8th Street and the 100 block of E 10th Street on August 24-26, 2012; adopt on first reading Ordinance No. 8765, allowing the possession and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way on the 100 block of E 8th Street during the event.
