ORDINANCE NO. 8735

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to City of Lawrence Code Section 4-105(E), the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply on the sidewalk and parking stalls on the east side of the 600 block of Massachusetts Street, adjacent to Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts Street, and shall not apply on the 100 block of E 7th Street, from 1:00 p.m. – midnight on Friday, June 22, 2012, associated with the Liberty Hall 100 Year Anniversary Celebration, provided the sale, possession and consumption are pursuant to City of Lawrence and State of Kansas law.

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
