ORDINANCE NO. 8733

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to City of Lawrence Code Section 4-105(E), the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply on  Friday, June 29, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. on the 700 and 800 blocks of New Hampshire Street and on the 100 and 200 blocks of E 8th Street; and shall not apply on Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. on the 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Massachusetts Street, on the 100 blocks of E 8th Street and E 9th Street, and on the 100 blocks of W 8th Street and W 9th Street, associated with the Tour of Lawrence; provided the sale, possession and consumption are pursuant to City of Lawrence and State of Kansas law.

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
