The items listed below are planned for future agendas.  I have listed the date of items as they are known.  Dates are subject to change. 

 

05/08/12

Consent Agenda:

·         Accept of dedications of easements and rights-of-way for Wal-Mart Addition No. 4, a two-lot Minor Subdivision (MS-2-2-12) replat of Lot 1 Wal-Mart Addition No 3, located at 3300 Iowa Street. Submitted by Davidson Architecture and Engineering for Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust, property owner of record.

 

Regular Agenda:

·         Receive letter from Lawrence Chamber of Commerce regarding a proposed partnership between the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

 

·         Consider the following determinations by the Historic Resources Commission concerning the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street:   Appeal Letter   Appeal Memo   HRC Summary   February HRC minutes   Correspondence - Updated 05/01/12

 

a)       Consider making a determination based on a consideration of all relevant factors that there is/is not a feasible and prudent alternative to the proposed project at 900 New Hampshire Street and that the proposed project includes/does not include all possible planning to minimize harm to the listed properties. The Historic Resources Commission determined (7-0) on February 16, 2012 that this project will encroach upon, damage or destroy the listed historic properties and their environs.

 

ACTION:        Make a determination based on a consideration of all relevant factors that there is a feasible and prudent alternative to the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street and that the proposed project does not include all possible planning to minimize harm to the listed property, if appropriate.

 

b)       Consider an appeal of the HRC determination to deny a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street. The HRC determined (7-0) on February 16, 2012 that this project will encroach upon, damage or destroy the listed historic properties and their environs.

 

ACTION:      Uphold the determination of the HRC or issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for the project, if appropriate

 

05/15/12

·         Conduct a public hearing to review the condition of the dilapidated structures located at 1106 Rhode Island Street and consider declaring the structures unsafe and ordering the repair or removal within a specified time period.

 

·         Distance limitation waiver hearing for Tour of Lawrence.

 

05/22/12

·         Conduct a public hearing to review the condition of the dilapidated structure located at 1233 New Jersey Street and consider declaring the structure unsafe and ordering the repair or removal within a specified time period.

·         Consider a request to rezone, Z-11-27-11, approximately 12.40 acres from IG (General Industrial) to H (Hospital), located at 138 Alabama Street. Submitted by Treanor Architects, for Alford-Clarke Post #852 VFW, property owner of record and Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, contract purchaser. Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8707, to rezone (Z-11-27-11) approximately 12.40 acres from IG (General Industrial) to H (Hospital), located at 138 Alabama Street.
