The major exterior work includes - removing and replacing the driveway and a roof replacement for the house and detached garage. Additional exterior work includes two exterior door replacements, an exterior door repair, and minor window trim repair, paint all exterior window trim, gutter/downspout work and fence repair. Mechanical work includes a furnace and A/C replacement and extending ductwork to provide heating and cooling to a bathroom. Additional interior work includes vinyl replacement in the dining room and kitchen. The specifications include three alternates for upgrading the furnace to a 95% efficiency furnace, a concrete slab and yard reconfiguration and ceramic tile installation in the kitchen in dining in lieu of vinyl. House was built in 1970, and Lead Base Paint was located but is not in hazardous condition so Lead Safe Work Practices is not required.

The majority of the work includes stabilizing the foundation by installing 8 piers and injecting poly-fill into the slab. The exterior work includes – a partial driveway replacement and removing and replacing the city sidewalk. Plumbing work includes replacing the water heater. The specifications include one alternate for repairing the wood deck on the back of the house. House was built in 1981 and Lead Safe Work Practices are not required.
Recommendation Action:
Approve bid from Schmidt Contracting Inc. for 120 Florida Street in the amount of $21,500.00 for the Base Bid, $1,300.00 for Alternate #1, $1,000.00 for Alternate #2 and $900.00 for Alternate #4. Total contract price of $24,700.00.
Approve bid from Clovis Construction Inc. for 1100 Lawrence Avenue in the amount of $22,883.00 for the Base Bid only.
