RE: |
Farmers Market use of city parking lots downtown
|
As they have in previous years, the Downtown Lawrence Farmers Market has requested approval of Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permits for the use of city Parking Lot #8 (800 block of New Hampshire) on Saturdays from 04/14/12-11/17/12 from 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., and use of city Parking Lot #10 (1000 block of Vermont) on Tuesdays from 05/01/12-10/30/12 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Along with permission to use the lots, the city provides barricades to close the lots to traffic during the Farmers Market.
The proposed development project at 1040 Vermont may be completed before the end of the 2012 Farmers Market season, but city staff has come to agreement with the developer and the Farmers Market that the Tuesday markets will remain in this lot in 2012.
