Purchase of Fire Turnout Gear

Please include the following item on a future City Commission meeting agenda.

Background:

The Fire Medical department issues and maintains structural firefighting gear for each uniformed member of the department.  In 2011 the department organized a project team to evaluate three manufacturers of turnout gear. The manufacturers that were evaluated were: Morning Pride, Lion, and Globe. The project team chose Lion after an extensive evaluation process.

Bid Status

The Fire Medical Department solicited bids (#B1217) for supplying the Department with Structural Turnout Gear firefighting.  The Notice to Bidders set out the specifications for the gear and the quantity requested.  The Department received two bids from suppliers.  The submitted bids were reviewed and analyzed to determine the low bid from the responses, meeting the Department’s specifications. All bidders met specifications and the low bid was selected.
