Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the March 6, 2012 meeting:
On March 6, 2012 the City Commission will conduct a public hearing to consider a request by owner, City of Lawrence, 6 East 6th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044, for the vacation of the alley in the 700 Block between Kentucky and Vermont Streets. The alley contains a sanitary sewer line which will be removed with the re-design of the existing Library, and addition of a new parking garage.
All utilities, as well as city staff, have reviewed this request and have no objections. All property owners within 200 feet have also been notified and no objections have been received.
Action Requested: Conduct public hearing and, pending discussion, approve order of vacation.
