Planning and Development Services 2011 Annual Report

Planning and Development Services staff work hard throughout the year responding to customer inquiries, improving and enforcing regulations, refining departmental efficiencies, and processing development related applications. The 2011 Annual Report highlights departmental efforts undertaken throughout 2011 by the department.

 

Utilities Department Participates in the Hillcrest Elementary Science Fair

Jeanette Klamm, Utilities Programs Manager, and Carolyn Woodhead, Residuals Coordinator, conducted presentations and demonstrations at the Hillcrest Elementary Science Fair on February 8. The presentations included general water and wastewater treatment process descriptions with the use of a power point slide show. Three demonstrations were done including glass jars with the various stages of water treatment (river water, clarifier water, and tap water), glass jars with various stages of wastewater treatment (raw wastewater, primary wastewater, secondary clarifier water, effluent, and river water), and the effects of grease on sewer lines. Approximately 20-30 parents and students were present for the presentations.
