RE:	License agreement between the City of Lawrence and The University of Kansas – Fiber cable installation on City of Lawrence right of way (11^th & Indiana)

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the February 28, 2012 meeting:

The license agreement between the City of Lawrence and The University of Kansas would allow the installation and maintenance of a fiber optic duct bank on City of Lawrence right of way between 10^th Street and 11^th Street and Ohio and Indiana Streets.

The Public Works and Legal Departments have reviewed the request. It is our recommendation that this agreement be authorized for the City Manager’s signature.

The license agreement indemnifies the City of Lawrence and gives the City of Lawrence the right to have the improvements removed or relocated if they interfere with future right of way activities.

Action Request.  Authorize the City Manager to execute and approve a license agreement between the City of Lawrence and The University of Kansas.
