RE:               Youth Sports Complex – Electrical Equipment for Lights

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the February 21st, 2012, meeting:

Accept the bid provided by Western Extralite Company for electrical equipment to be used for ball diamond lights at the Youth Sports Complex.

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to accept the proposal provided by Western Extralite for $31,546 for in-ground electrical wire, switching gear, and junction boxes to provide electrical serve to ball diamond lights at the Youth Sports Complex. The used light poles on fields 5-7 were acquired KU, and installed at the complex over the past few months. The requested electrical equipment will make these lights operational.

Pricing for the project was acquired by use of a State of Kansas Cooperative Purchasing Agreement

Project Funding

It is proposed that the $31,546 be funded from Sales Tax Reserve.

Action Request

Authorize the City Manager to sign a purchase requisition for $31,546 to Western Extralite Company for electrical equipment.
