CONCRETE WORK – PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT – #B1204

Parks and Recreation requested bids for unit pricing of concrete work.  This bid is for small jobs and small repairs costing less than $15,000 for the 2012 calendar year and was written so other City departments can utilize the pricing.  The bid was also written to be renewed for four additional years providing prices remain the same, both parties agree and funds are available. 

The low bid from Vintage Greenmark required a COD on delivery of concrete to each job which is not acceptable to the City.  The next low bid from Elite construction does meet our specifications however is not licensed in Lawrence.  Mr. Helton with Elite Construction has contacted Building Inspections for the license and will have it within 30 days.  Our recommendation is to award the contract to Elite providing they can obtain their license within 30 days.    

These projects will come out of many accounts that were approved in the 2012 budgeting process. 

Recommendation Action: 

Award bid for hourly rates for concrete work for Parks and Recreation Department to Elite Contractors providing licensing requirements met within 30 days. (Parks and Recreation accounts)
