Set a Bid Opening Date of March 13, 2012 for Bid No.B1212; Kaw Water Treatment Plant Sludge Collector Drive Replacement.

Project History/Status

The Kaw Water Treatment Plant currently has five basins that have sludge collection equipment. Two of the drive mechanisms were replaced in 2010 as part of the O&M budget. Last year the O&M budget allowed for replacement of one drive. However, an emergency replacement of another drive also occurred. The remaining drive needing replacement is over twenty years old and has needed repair several times. This sludge collector drive is currently in use at the Kaw Water Treatment Plant and has exceeded its serviceable life. Utilities staff have developed bidding and construction documents for the sole source of a drive mechanism from the same manufacturer as last year to maintain consistency of equipment. However the installation can be competitively bid by any contractor. These documents are now complete and the project is ready to advertise for bidding.

Project Funding: 

The project will be funded from the 2012 Operations and Maintenance budget 501.7.7220.6034.

Action Request:  Set a Bid Opening Date of March 13, 2012 for Bid No. B1212; Kaw Water Treatment Plant Sludge Collector Drive Replacement.
