Dear Community Stakeholders,

The City of Lawrence has contracted with ETC Institute, Inc. to conduct a citizen satisfaction survey.  The survey will be conducted in February by a combination of mail and telephone and is expected to reach approximately 2,700 households throughout the City.  The goal of the survey is not just to learn how satisfied the residents of Lawrence are with the services we provide but to also gain a sense of the priorities of the community.

As an active member of the community, we need your help in designing the survey instrument.  Chris Tatham from ETC Institute will be contacting you in the coming days to ask your opinion on what issues and topics you think the survey should cover.  I hope you are able to find the time to briefly talk with him and share your thoughts on the type of feedback that will be important for our organization to gather.  We plan on using the survey results from this year’s effort as a benchmark for future surveys and as a tool to compare our service levels with similarly situated communities.

If you have any questions, you can contact Casey Liebst, Budget Manager, at cliebst@ci.lawrence.ks.us or 832-3409.

Thank you for your help with this important project.  The results of the survey will be useful to as we continue to work toward achieving the goals and objectives of the City Commission to provide excellent service to the citizens of Lawrence.

Sincerely,

David L. Corliss
