Assistant manager joining the city
 

(LAWRENCE, Ks) - The City of Lawrence announces the hiring of Diane
Stoddard as assistant city manager.  Her duties will include planning
and operations of all city services and coordinating delivery of city
services and activities among city departments.  Stoddard will report to
City Manager David Corliss while working to implement city policies,
goals and working with other agencies.  Stoddard will start with the
city on October 24.  She joins Cynthia Boecker who was also recently
appointed to the other assistant city manager vacancy. 

 

"Diane brings tremendous municipal management experience that will
greatly benefit the community," said City Manager David Corliss.  "Her
city management skills and history of successful projects makes her a
good fit for Lawrence."

 

Stoddard is currently the deputy city manager with the City of
Manhattan.  She has been with Manhattan since 1996 and has filled the
positions of assistant city manager and assistant to the city manager.
She previously worked for the City of Ottawa.  She holds a masters
degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas and also
from KU, a degree in Political Science. Diane is a Lawrence native.
