DEVICTOR PARK DEDICATION TODAY

LAWRENCE - The dedication of the new park in west Lawrence, DeVictor Park, 1100 George Williams Way, will be held at 4 p.m. today.

 

After a short ceremony, a trail walk will conclude the dedication.  The event is free and open to the public. Comfortable shoes are encouraged to be worn for the trail walk.

 

The park is named for the longtime director of Lawrence Parks and Recreation, Fred DeVictor.

SPACE STILL REMAINS IN CLASS FOR YOUNG MAD SCIENTISTS

LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is continuing to accept enrollment in Science- Preschool Style, a class for children ages 4-6 taught by the experts from Mad Science of Kansas City. 

 

The class is offered from 6-6:45 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Oct. 30. The theme for this session is "butterflies, energy and motion." Children will use their imaginations and learn through science experiments and other activities in this fast-paced, age-appropriate science class.
