INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER TO HOST SWIM MEET, ALTER LAP SWIMMING TIMES
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr., will host the Annual Olathe Aquatics Swim Meet Friday through Sunday, Oct. 26-28. Children ages 8-18 from communities across Kansas will compete in individual and relay events. There will be no admission fee for spectators.
The Indoor Aquatic Center's competition pool will close to the public at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, and re-open at 5:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in order to accommodate the meet. Lap swimming will be available at Carl Knox Natatorium, located on the Lawrence High School campus, over the weekend. Those hours will be as follows:
Friday, Oct. 26 - 6:15 to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 27 - 1 to 5 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 28 - 1 to 5 p.m.
Carl Knox Natatorium is normally closed Friday through Sunday.

TURKEY TROT ENTRIES BEING ACCEPTED
LAWRENCE- Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its annual Turkey Trot, 5K run/walk, at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University.
The race is open to all ages and the entry fee is $18 prior to the race and $23 on the day of the race. Deadline for entries avoiding a late fee must be in by Friday, Nov. 2. Day-of-race entries will be accepted from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Division winners will receive turkeys; second and third place finishers will each receive a $15 gift certificate good toward a future Parks and Recreation class or activity. Overall male and female winners receiving $50 gift certificates from Jock's Nitch Sporting Goods, 837 Massachusetts St.
Registration for the Turkey Trot can be done online at www.lprd.org <http://www.lprd.org/> or by visiting any Parks and Recreation facility including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St. or South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.
