Ohio Street brick restoration topic of public meeting
 

(LAWRENCE, Ks) - The City of Lawrence will hold an informational meeting
on the brick restoration of Ohio Street from 6th Street south to 8th
Street on Monday, October 22 at 7p.m. at the Lawrence Public Library
auditorium, 707 Vermont.

 

The project will remove existing asphalt overlay; remove and salvage
existing layers of brick that are under current asphalt, construct new
roadway with concrete base and reused brick then remove, clean, and
replace existing stone curbing and hitching posts.  The work is intended
to construct a long lasting roadway and enhance the historical appeal of
Lawrence.

 

The project is expected to be bid in January 2008 with construction
beginning in Spring 2008 and lasting approximately six months.
