CITY INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AND BUS REROUTES
 

(LAWRENCE, Ks) - On Saturday, October 6, the west lane of southbound
traffic on Kansas River Bridge will be closed from 6:45 a.m. to 8:00
p.m. as Bowersock Mills and Power Company works on the transmission
pole.

 

Work on the mill and overlay project also includes East 18th Terrace
from Maple Lane to Harper Avenue with parking removal.

 

On-going city infrastructure improvement projects for the week of Oct. 8
include:

 

Project: Kasold Drive reconstruction north of Peterson and KTA bridge

Traffic impact:  Kasold Drive open from Peterson Road to Tillerman.
Access to Huntington Road, Grand Vista and the KTA Bridge is closed.  

 

 

Project:  2007 Overlay Program Phase 2

Traffic impact: Traffic may be interrupted or reduced to one lane during
days work is being conducted on the following streets:

Ousdahl Road, 19th Street to 23rd Street, work underway

Ousdahl Road, 23rd Street to 25th Street, work underway

24th Street, Naismith to east of Ousdahl Road, work underway

Naismith, 23rd Street to 24th Street, work underway

23rd Street, at Naismith, eastbound traffic reduced to one lane

Miller Drive, Maple Lane to East 19th Street, work underway

Brook Street, Maple Lane to Miller Drive, work underway

W. 25th Street, Ousdahl Road to Cedarwood Avenue, work underway

W. 25th Court, cul-de-sac to Ousdahl, work underway

Cedarwood Avenue, W. 25th Street to W. 26th Street, work underway

W. 26th Street. Ousdahl Road to Iowa Street, work underway

Manor Terrace, cul-de-sac to W. 27th Street, work underway

Ousdahl Road, 27th Street to south, work underway

W. 33rd Street, Ousdahl Road to the west to driveway, work underway

E. 18th Terrace, Maple Lane to Harper Avenue

 

Project:  Concrete repairs

Traffic impact:  East 23rd Street, Haskell Avenue east to the city
limits, reduced to one lane, to be completed week of Oct. 15

 

 

Bus Reroutes

 

Route 6 reroute for Oct. 6

 

On Saturday, Oct. 6, there will be a triathlon event at Free State High
School from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. During this time, Route 6 will not
be able to serve the school directly. The reroute is as follows:

 

Passengers will need to catch the Clockwise bus on the east side of
Wakarusa before 6th St. or on the south side of 6th St. east of
Wakarusa. Passengers will need to catch Route 6 Counter-Clockwise on the
west side of Wakarusa at the bus stop near McDonald's.

 

Route 8 reroute at Ousdahl

While crews complete road repairs to Ousdahl Road between 19th and 23rd
Streets, Route 8 is rerouting to Naismith Dr. The bus shelter on Ousdahl
Road near Taco John's will be closed during the reroute. Passengers
wishing to catch the Route 8 Southbound on Ousdahl Road should move to
the north side of 23rd St., before Ousdahl Road Passengers wishing to
catch the Route 8 Northbound on Ousdahl Road should move to the south
side of 23rd St. and wait at the bus stop sign in front of Perkins
Restaurant.
