CITY INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
 

(LAWRENCE, Ks) - Next week, traffic on Kasold Avenue from Bob Billings
Parkway to W. 22nd Street will be shifted to the east lanes and remains
restricted to one lane each direction.  Traffic control will be shifted
at both the north and south ends of the project.  When traffic moves to
the east lanes, traffic on 22nd Street, east of Kasold will be permitted
to turn right onto Kasold Avenue while left turns will remain
prohibited.

 

Beginning next week and working as weather permits, city crews will be
making base repairs Bob Billings Parkway between Iowa Street and Kasold
Avenue.  Traffic will be restricted to one lane in sections during the
work day.

 

On going city infrastructure improvement projects for the week of Oct.
30 include:
 
Project: Kasold bridge over KTA
Traffic impact:
Kasold, north of Peterson Road, closed to through traffic
 
Project: Kasold Drive reconstruction
Traffic impact:
Kasold Drive, Bob Billings Parkway to W 22nd Street, one lane traffic
each direction
22nd Street east of Kasold Drive, right turns permitted, left turn
prohibited
Kasold Drive, intersections with all side streets, closed from Bob
Billings Parkway to W 22nd Terrace
 
City street crews

W. Eighth Street at Chouteau Court, work completed

W. 30th Street at Gill Avenue., work completed

Bob Billings Parkway, Iowa Street to Kasold Avenue, reduced to one lane
in sections during the work day

 

Project: sanitary sewer pump stations in North Lawrence

Traffic impact:  as work progresses, these impacts may occur

North Street, residence and business access will be maintained

Grant Street, residence and business access will be maintained

Walnut Street, residence and business access will be maintained

 

Riverfront parking garage at Sixth and New Hampshire

Ramp between upper and lower level closed

 

Sidewalk repairs

Wakarusa Drive, north of Sixth Street, portions unavailable during
project

 

Project: Waterline installation

Fair Lane, west of Maple Lane, parking restricted and local traffic
maintained

Wedgewood Drive, 15th Street to Random Road, parking restricted and
local traffic maintained
