Public meetings scheduled to discuss Coordinated Public Transportation Development Plan
(Lawrence, Ks) - Two more public meetings are set for next week to give the public an opportunity to hear the latest developments in the Coordinated Public Transportation Development Plan and provide input. These public meetings will be the fourth and fifth in a series of ongoing discussions and will focus on preliminary service and financing proposals.
The first meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 in the Tom Wilkerson Room at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center west of Free State High School, 4706 Overland Drive. This location is served by Route 6 Clockwise and Route 6 Counter-Clockwise of the Lawrence Transit System.
The second meeting will be from 4 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Pine Room of the Kansas Union at the University of Kansas. This location is served by Route 8 of the Lawrence Transit System.
Both meetings are an open house format. Participants are invited to come and go anytime during the meeting.
The City of Lawrence and the University of Kansas have jointly commissioned a study to investigate possible coordination or consolidation of the Lawrence Transit System and KU on Wheels.
Staff from the City, the University and the consultant team will present study findings to date, answer questions and seek input from the public.
