Tonight's neighborhood meeting on sanitary sewer project canceled
 
(LAWRENCE, Ks) -  Tonight's neighborhood meeting for property owners and residents interested in the upcoming Yankee Tank Creek Gravity Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement Project has been canceled.  Cold temperatures coupled with the weather forecast and the request of neighbors have canceled tonight's meeting scheduled for 6:30p.m. at the Indoor Aquatic Center.
 
A rescheduled meeting date and location will be announced next week.
 
The City of Lawrence Department of Utilities had planned to discuss the replacement of existing sanitary sewer pipe with larger diameter pipe to provide increased capacity.  The work includes some relocation of the pipe alignment to eliminate creek crossings while moving the pipe further away from the shore of Lake Alvamar.  Work is scheduled to begin in this month and is scheduled to be complete by May 31, 2007, weather permitting.
