Neighborhood invited to learn about sanitary sewer project
(LAWRENCE, Ks) - The City of Lawrence Department of Utilities will
conduct a neighborhood meeting for property owners and residents
interested the upcoming Yankee Tank Creek Gravity Sanitary Sewer Line
Replacement Project. The project involves the replacement of existing
sanitary sewer pipe with larger diameter pipe to provide increased
capacity. The work includes some relocation of the pipe alignment to
eliminate creek crossings while moving the pipe further away from the
shore of Lake Alvamar. Work is scheduled to begin in this month and is
scheduled to be complete by May 31, 2007, weather permitting.
The neighborhood meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 from 6:30
p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Tom Wilkerson Room at the Indoor Aquatic
Center, 4706 Overland Drive.
Staff from the City of Lawrence Utilities Department, Burns & McDonnell
Engineers and Garney Construction will make a brief presentation on the
project and then answer questions.
