City surveying for future web possibilities

(LAWRENCE, Ks) - The City of Lawrence is seeking input on how it can
improve its web services.

This week, surveys were mailed to residents and businesses asking about
interest in possible additions to the city's web offerings. Electronic
government, or eGov for short, is a collection of government services
for residents, businesses and employees available through the city's web
site on a 24/7 basis.

Individuals who do not receive a survey by mail but would like to
participate are asked to complete an online survey at
http://www.lawrenceks.org <http://www.lawrenceks.org/> and select the
link titled "Take our survey." The survey will be available through 5
p.m., Nov. 24. City staff will compare public input to the available
technology and develop a plan to meet the needs of the Lawrence
community.

The city currently provides several eGov services, such as Utility
Billing, Recreation Class Signup, Internet/GIS Mapping and Web Based
City Commission Agendas, all available at
http://www.lawrenceks.org/egov.shtml.
