SPACE IS LIMITED FOR WEDDING DANCE CRASH COURSE 
LAWRENCE-Two left feet? Forget about it.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will offer Wedding Dance Crash
Course for individuals 18 years old and older who are scared of the
dance floor. The class will be held at the Community Building, 115 West
11th St, Sunday, Nov. 5, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Wedding Dance Crash Course is offered to both couples and individuals
looking to enhance their skills on the dance floor. The class will
provide a foundation in general social dancing to make that special day
unforgettable. Individuals will be introduced to two or three social
dances with an emphasis on timing and partner connection.

The cost of the class is $25 per couple. Space is limited\. Remember,
online enrollment is a great way for fast and easy enrollment. It can be
done online at www.lprd.org or visit a Lawrence Parks and Recreation
facility, including: the Community Building; East Lawrence Recreation
Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West
27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center; Prairie Park Nature Center,
2730 Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St. or
South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.

LEARN HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF WITH SELFDEFENSE CLASS
LAWRENCE- Want to want to be able to protect yourself? Lawrence Parks
and Recreation Department wants to help, by offering a Self Defense
course for individuals 13 years old and older. The course will be held
at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 2 to
5 p.m. the cost of the course is $16.

In the class, participants will learn the fundamentals of basic self
defense. Self Defense is a class that is suitable for students of all
physical abilities. Awareness and risk assessment will be discussed
along with simple, effective and physical techniques of self-defense.
Students are asked to wear loose clothing.

There are two instructors who have several years of experience teaching
self defense clinics.

Space is limited. Remember, online enrollment is a great way for fast
and easy enrollment. Enrollment can be done online at www.lprd.org or
visit a Lawrence Parks and Recreation facility, including: the Community

WORK ON FAIRWAY COMPLETE; FIRST HOLE FAIRWAY TO REOPEN
LAWRENCE-Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will reopen the
fairway on the first hole at Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center,
1250 E. 902 Rd., today. 

The fairway was shut down in order to perform maintenance. It was
reseeded and will now be available for play. 

The hole will be change back to a par 4 after being altered to a par 3.
However, the hole will continue to be cart-path only for the remainder
of the year, since the grass cannot sustain cart traffic. At the end of
the year, the fairway will be reevaluated for cart traffic during spring
play.
