Neighborhood meeting on sanitary sewer project rescheduled

 

(LAWRENCE, Ks) -  Last week's winter weather canceled the neighborhood
meeting for property owners and residents interested in the upcoming
Yankee Tank Creek Gravity Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement Project.  The
meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, Dec. 14 from 6:30p.m. to
7:30p.m. in the Tom Wilkerson Room of the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706
Overland Drive.

 

The City of Lawrence Department of Utilities will discuss the project
that includes the replacement of existing sanitary sewer pipe with
larger diameter pipe to provide increased capacity.  The work includes
some relocation of the pipe alignment to eliminate creek crossings while
moving the pipe further away from the shore of Lake Alvamar.  Work is
scheduled to begin in December and is scheduled to be complete by May
31, 2007, weather permitting.
