				1) Relay For Life Takes To The Water

RELAY FOR LIFE TAKES TO THE WATER
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, Aquatic Division, will host the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.

The relay will feature lap swimming, water walking, a browsing area with tables of information regarding cancer prevention and refreshments.

The relay is the kickoff for the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to stop by the Aquatic Center to pick up a registration packet. On the day of the event, participants are asked to bring the donations they have collected.  All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
