1)	Nature Center To Be Transformed Into Hogwarts

NATURE CENTER TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO HOGWARTS
LAWRENCE - The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St., will hold its annual Halloween Open House, Sunday, Oct. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

This year's Open House will feature a Hogwarts theme of the famed Harry Potter book series. Upon arrival, participants will be sorted by the Sorting Hat and given their individual house assignment. 

Students will then be able to take part in classes which include:

Herbology with Professor Sprout
Lesson to be covered: Mixing healthy magical soil

Potions with Professor Snape
Lesson to be covered: Magic Slime Potion

Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid
Lesson to be covered: Myths and legends of some magical creatures

Divination with Professor Trelawney
Lesson to be covered: Reading Tea Leaves

Other planned activities to take part in include:

Creating Owl Mail at the Owlery - Hogwarts grounds
Write owl mail and learn more about these ghost flying birds.

Three Broom Sticks - Hogsmeade
Sit down and enjoy a mug full of butterbeer or pumpkin juice.

Honeydukes - Hogsmeade
Come and sample some of our Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans, chocolate frogs and worms.

Ollivander's Wand Shop - Diagon Alley
Make your own personal edible wand.

Visit the dark arts shop, Borgan & Burkes - Nocturn Alley
Look for all the glowing creatures and objects you dare not touch!

Take a Walk in the Forbidden Dark Forest.
