Lawrence Parks and Recreation celebrating 60 years of service to the Lawrence Community in 2006

CELEBRATE A MONTH OF SHARING WITH LAWRENCE PARKS AND RECREATION
LAWRENCE - Celebrate a Month of Sharing with Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and share a gift of the holidays with a youngster in the community. 

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department facilities will be collection sites for new, unused toys. Toys that are collected will be donated to the Salvation Army. 

Citizens wanting to participate are asked to bring in a new, unused toy to any Parks and Recreation Department facility and place it in decorated, seasonal boxes located at each facility. Toys will be distributed to children in late December.

New, unused toys are being collected at the following locations:

The Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2370 Harper St.; South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St. and the Administrative Office, 947 New Hampshire St.

The Month of Sharing concludes Friday, Dec. 16, to allow for distribution. Last year, the department collected over 500 toys for youth in the community.
