SECOND SESSION OF FALL CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY
LAWRENCE - There is still time to enroll in the second session of the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's fall programs, which begin Monday, Nov. 7.
Classes offered include: fitness classes; instructional dance classes; children's gymnastics; children's dance classes; children's art classes; children's fitness classes; children's language classes; children's music classes; martial art classes; adult computer classes; adult language classes and hobby programming.
For a complete listing of the programs offered, please consult the 2005 Fall Activities Guide. It is available at all Parks and Recreation Department facilities including the: Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive or South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St. Courses available can also be found online at www.lprd.org <http://www.lprd.org> .
Citizens have several options for registering for classes including online, faxing, mailing or visiting a neighborhood recreation center or the Indoor Aquatic Center. Online enrollment can be accessed from a link on the Lawrence Parks and Recreation website at www.lprd.org <http://www.lprd.org> .
All program registration is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Certain classes and programs have minimum or maximum enrollment. Registration is required before the first class. Waiting lists will be formed when programs are filled and every attempt will be made to accommodate people on waiting lists.
Discounts are available for adults over 60 years of age, and the department also has a youth scholarship program for those needing assistance with payment. Scholarship applications are available at all recreation centers. No one meeting scholarship criteria will be denied participation in any department program.
