REXROAD TO LEAVE POST
(LAWRENCE) - Karin Rexroad, public transit administrator for the City of
Lawrence, has resigned her post, taking a position with a private transit
industry based in Wichita, Kan.

Rexroad has been with the City since February of 2000. She was instrumental
in establishing the public transit system in Lawrence. Under her leadership,
the "T" has set numerous records for users and continues to achieve
recognition and exemplary reviews from the Federal Transit Administration.

Prior to her arrival in Lawrence, Rexroad was the executive director of the
Public Transportation Department of Reno County, a department she developed
and supervised along with the Reno County Department of Aging. 

"Karin's dedication to the City of Lawrence, professionalism and knowledge
of federal and state regulations have been critical to the development of
the "T" as a valued City service," Mike Wildgen, city manager, said. "We
wish her the best in her future endeavors."

Rexroad's last day with the City will be Feb. 24.
