Important News From Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department For Wednesday, December 07, 2005

ACTIVITIES, CLASSES CANCELLED; FACILITIES TO CLOSE EARLY
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will not be holding any activities, classes or programs this evening due to inclement weather in the area.

This includes: all recreation instruction classes, youth sports, aquatic classes and swim lessons.  Aquatic classes will be made up Friday, Dec. 9, at their regularly scheduled times. Dates and times of make-up classes and youth games will be determined at a later date and provided to participants.

All Recreation facilities will also close at 5 p.m. today.   This includes:  East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center; 2700 W. 27th St.; the Community Building; 115 W. 11th St.; South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St; the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr. and Carl Knox Natatorium, 1901 Louisiana St. All facilities are scheduled to reopen at their regular scheduled hours tomorrow.  Prairie Park Nature Center normally closes at 5 p.m. and will resume programming tomorrow.
