Lawrence Transit System will follow these reroutes during the week of Sept.
25
A KU Football Game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25 and will end during
the Lawrence Transit System's operating hours. As requested by the police
department, transit may be required to reroute Route 8 to bypass the campus.
Typically, this means transit goes inbound North on Iowa to 9th, right on
9th and return to the regular route at 9th and Indiana. Outbound transit
goes west on 9th to Iowa, left on Iowa and return to the regular route at
23rd and Iowa.
Due to ongoing work on the storm water improvement project in the 13th an
Oregon area, Route 1 continues to reroute around the closure of Haskell
Avenue. Riders that catch Route 1 along Haskell Ave. between 15th and 11th
Streets will need to travel to the intersection of 15th and Haskell or 11th
and Delaware to catch the bus.
Route 1 from the downtown hub will take Delaware to 11th St. continuing on
to Connecticut then to 15th St. and back on the regular route at 15th Street
and Haskell Ave. The inbound trip will follow Haskell Ave. to 15th St. on
to Connecticut St. then to 11th Street and resume the regular route.
