SESQUICENTENNIAL EDITION OF THE MASS STREET MILE RESCHEDULED
LAWRENCE -Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Special Events Division
has rescheduled the Mass Street Mile for Sunday, Oct. 10, at 8:30 a.m.
starting at historic South Park, 1131 Massachusetts St.

Registrations will continue to be taken for the event. Cost to run is $12
for adults and $10 for children, ages 2 to 17 years old. Individuals may
also walk the race route for $5. There is a $1 late fee charged for
day-of-race entries.

Participants will receive a commemorative Sesquicentennial Mass St. Mile
t-shirt. Participants will begin the race at the corner of 11th and
Massachusetts Sts. and proceed down Massachusetts St. to a turnaround point
in front of Francis Sporting Goods, located at 731 Massachusetts St., and
return to South Park to end the race.

enroll online or visit a Lawrence Parks and Recreation facility, including:
the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center,
1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.;
Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Prairie Park Nature
Center, 2730 Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St.
or South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.

The Mass St. Mile, originally scheduled as part of Lawrence's
Sesquicentennial Celebration, was postponed due to inclement weather.
Sponsors for the event include: Francis Sporting Goods and Jayhawk Trophy,
