DEPARTMENT OFFERS LANGUAGE CLASSES FOR KIDS
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering classes for
children to learn other languages including Spanish and American Sign
Language.

Spanish Adventures will be held on Tuesdays, Nov. 9 through Dec. 12, from
4:45 to 5:15 p.m. for children ages 3 to 5 at East Lawrence Recreation
Center.  A section is also available for children ages 6 to 12 from 5:30 to
6:30 p.m.  Cost of the five-week program is $17.

Course content will include learning Spanish while listening to songs,
playing games and learning Spanish vocabulary.

Sign Language for Kids will be held on Thursdays, Nov. 11 through Dec. 16,
from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at South Park Recreation Center.  It is open to
children ages 5 to 9 years old. Cost of the five-week program is $17. 

Children will learn the fundamentals of American Sign Language through games
and activities in an interactive atmosphere.  Letters, colors, numbers and
other skills will be taught.

Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St. or South Park
Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.
