The Lawrence Transit System Supports the Vote
(Lawrence, KS) - Lawrence citizens can count on the Lawrence Transit System
as a travel option to voting sites on Tuesday, November 2. The "T" fixed
route system and the T Lift paratransit service will offer free rides on
Election Day in order to accommodate voters going to the election polls.
Free rides on November 2, will not be limited to riders taking the "T" fixed
route system and T Lift paratransit service to the voting polls. The fare
on all Lawrence Transit System vehicles will be waived.
"The Lawrence Transit System is glad to support our community in helping its
citizens perform their civic duty," commented Karin Rexroad, Public Transit
Administrator. Transit routes travel throughout the community to
businesses, educational institutions and employment areas. For assistance
with trip planning or T Lift reservations call 312-7054 or visit
www.lawrencetransit.org to see a route map and timetable.
The benefit of public transportation is its dependability. Once people try
the "T", when they are in need of transportation they can turn to the "T".
First time riders will find that transit drivers are an excellent resource
for information. Drivers can help with transfers and explanation of timing
points on the "T" fixed route service.
