City infrastructure improvement projects and transit reroutes

(LAWRENCE, KS) - No new projects are scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 15.

Working days assessed for on going city infrastructure projects are as of
Nov. 6.  On going city infrastructure improvement projects and transit
system include:

Project:  Downtown water line installation, project complete

Project:  Barker and Pawnee water line installation, project substantially
completed 

Project:  13th and Oregon Storm water project
210 working days on the contract, project began March 9, 119 working days
assessed and 91 working days remaining
Original estimated completion date:  Feb. 2005, weather permitting
Current traffic impacts:
Pennsylvania, closed 13th Street to 14th Street

13th Street, closed at Oregon

Project: O'Connell Road street improvements
KDOT contract calendar days, completed Nov. 19
Original estimated completion date:  Nov. 19, weather permitting
Current traffic impact: 
O'Connell Road, closed, 23rd Street to 27th Terrace

O'Connell Road, local traffic only 27th Terrace to N1300 Road

Project: Trail Road sanitary sewer line
40 working days on the contract, work began Nov. 3, 3 working days assessed
and 37 working days remaining
Estimated completion date: Jan. 21
Traffic impact:
Trail Road, Jane Court to Roundabout Circle, occasional lane closures 

Folks Road, north of Trail Road closed during working day to through traffic

Lawrence Transit System will follow these reroutes on Nov. 13.

Following the University of Kansas football game on Saturday, the Lawrence
Transit System may be requested to bypass the campus per police
instructions.  Typically this means the Lawrence Transit System will use
Iowa from 23rd Street to 9th Street traveling off the regular route to
bypass campus.

Transit drivers can provide detailed information about the re-route to
