City infrastructure improvement projects
(LAWRENCE, KS) - Contractors working for the Department of Utilities will
begin a line cleaning and inspection project next week. Through December
31, crews will work in the area two blocks north and south of 20th Street
between Alabama Street and Haskell Avenue to clean and inspect sanitary
sewer lines. Occasional traffic interruptions may be necessary, however
none should be in place overnight.
Beginning next week, contractors will be rebuilding a retaining wall and
will need to close Crossgate north of Clinton Parkway. Traffic will be
detoured onto Greenbriar until approximately December 31, weather
permitting.
On going City infrastructure improvement projects for the week of November
24 include:
Line installation/cleaning
4th and Louisiana Streets, work completed
Moundview Dr., Rockledge to Century Dr., occasional lane closures, completed
approximately February 27, weather permitting
Alabama St. to Haskell Ave. between 19th and 21st Streets, occasional
traffic interruptions, completed approximately December 31, weather
permitting
Concrete repairs
15th St. at Kasold, one lane of west bound traffic, completed approximately
December 5, weather permitting
Iowa St., 15th St. to 19th St., southbound traffic reduced to one lane
during the day, completed approximately December 5, weather permitting
Clinton Parkway recreational path along, east of 5200 block, one side closed
Intersection improvements
6th Street, intersection of Kasold Dr., reduced to one lane in each
direction, completed approximately December 31, weather permitting
Kasold Dr., north of 6th St., reduced to one lane each direction, completed
approximately December 31, weather permitting
6th Street, intersection of Comet Ln, westbound traffic reduced to one lane
6th St., intersection of Lawrence Ave., westbound traffic reduced to one
lane, completed approximately December 31, weather permitting
Road improvements
11th Street, east of Haskell Avenue closed from Haskell Avenue east to the
railroad tracks, completed approximately January 30, 2004, weather
permitting
Crossgate, north of Clinton Parkway, closed to through traffic, completed
approximately December 31, 2004, weather permitting
