INDOOR AQUATIC POOL'S COMPETITION POOL CLOSED DUE TO SWIM MEET
LAWRENCE - The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Indoor Aquatic
Center, Competition Pool, will be unavailable to the public starting today,
Friday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. due to the Olathe Aquatics' Spooktacular Swim
Meet, which is being hosted by the Aquatics Division. The Competition Pool
will reopen on Monday, Oct. 27, at 5:15 a.m.

The Family pool will be available for public swim at its regularly scheduled
hours:   Friday, 3:30 to 7:45 p.m.; Saturday, 1 to 7:45 p.m. and Sunday, 1
to 5:45 p.m. 

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Aquatic Center will host its annual Spook 'N'
Splash from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $3 for children 3 to 12 years old. There
will be candy at several trick or treat stations, as well as games, door
prizes, a costume contest and swimming fun. Trick or treat bags will be
provided.

There is no admission being charged for the swim meet, so the public is
invited to attend and support Lawrence swimmers competing in the meet.

SATURDAY NITE'S MAIN EVENT TO HOST "MONSTER'S BALL"
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Saturday Nite's Main
Event, held at East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St., will  host
the "Monster's Ball" tomorrow, Saturday, Oct.25, from 7 to 11 p.m. The
program is open to students in 4th through 8th grade.

Saturday Nite's Main Event is a youth lock-in program and includes music,
raffles, games, karaoke and lots of prizes. Cost of attendance is $6 per
student. Those arriving in costume will receive a 50 percent discount off
the regular admission price.

Each child in attendance will also receive a free bag of goodies at the end
of the night.

Saturday Nite's Main Event is a program that runs throughout the school year
with different themes for each week's program. Parents or guardians are
required to fill out a registration form for children who attend. VIP
Membership Cards are also available for $36, which gives 7 admissions for
the price of 6.
