Lawrence Transit System uses reroute during 19th Street excavation

(LAWRENCE, KS) - A contractor working on a development project along 19th
Street will close the street to through traffic intermittently as work is
underway to access water lines.

The closure will require the Lawrence Transit System to reroute Route 2 off
19th St.  Beginning immediately, Route 2 will travel on 15th St. at New
Jersey and not go south onto Learnard Ave.  The reroute will follow 15th St.
east to Haskell Ave. and then turn south on Haskell Ave. and return to the
normal route at 20th Street and Haskell Ave.

Riders who usually board along Learnard Ave., 19th Street or Moodie Rd.
should travel to Haskell Ave. or 15th St. to flag to Route 2.

The reroute is expected to last until next Wednesday, weather permitting.
The "T" will return to its regular Route 2 when excavation on 19th St. is
complete.
