Committee seeks public input at Tuesday meeting

(Lawrence, Kansas) - The City of Lawrence Code Review Committee will hold a
meeting to receiving public comment on proposed building codes.  On Tuesday,
Sept. 30 from 6:30 to 7:30p.m., the fifteen member committee will listen to
public input on the two sets of codes developed by the International Code
Council and the National Fire Protection Association.

The meeting will gather information from citizens that use the building
codes in business or have an interest in the code.  Information collected
will then assist the committee in developing a recommendation that will be
given to the City Commission.

The meeting will be held in the City Commission room, City Hall, 6 East
Sixth Street.  Individuals unable to attend Tuesday's meeting may send
written comment to Barry Walthall, codes enforcement manager, P.O. Box 708,
Lawrence, KS 66044 or email bwalthall@ci.lawrence.ks.us.  Written comments
should be received by November 1 so material is available for the November
24 committee analysis meeting.
