City infrastructure improvement projects; T reroutes during parade
(LAWRENCE, KS) - During the Band Day parade on Saturday, September 6, the
Lawrence Transit System will reroute to the perimeter of downtown. While
the parade travels from Seventh Street to South Park along Massachusetts
Street from approximately 1p.m. until approximately 2:30p.m., riders should
move to the intersections of 9th Street and Vermont and 9th Street and New
Hampshire to board.
Lawrence Transit System drivers have detailed information for riders and can
assist passengers with using the reroutes. For more information on routes

Intersection improvements to 6th Street and Comet Lane will begin next week.
To accommodate street widening, westbound traffic on 6th Street will be
reduced to one lane.
On going City infrastructure improvement projects for the week of September
8 include:
Storm sewer improvements
21st St., Massachusetts to Kentucky, closed, completed approximately
September 19 (date extended), weather permitting
Kentucky, closed, 20th St. to 22nd St.
Vermont, closed, 20th St. to 22nd St.
27th St., Belle Haven to Louisiana, closed until approximately September 12
(date extended), weather permitting
Line installation
13th Street, Louisiana to Oread, westbound traffic only
Ohio Street, north of Dakota St., completed approximately September 12 (date
extended), weather permitting
Mill and overlay and curb repair
Emerald Drive, 19th Terr. to 21st St., traffic interruptions
9th Street, Iowa to Rockledge, traffic interruptions
N Iowa, Princeton Avenue to Peterson Road, project not yet underway, no
interruptions
Rockledge, 9th St. to Yale Ave., traffic interruptions
9th St. Terr. to Yale Ave. intersection, traffic interruptions
Steven Drive, Wellington Road to Lawrence Avenue, traffic interruptions
Intersection improvements
6th Street, intersection of Kasold Dr., reduced to one lane in each
direction completed approximately December 31, weather permitting
6th Street, intersection of Comet Ln, westbound traffic reduced to one lane
