PROMOTIONS SCHEDULED TO END
LAWRENCE - Two summertime promotions offered by the Lawrence Parks and
Recreation Department will be ending soon.
The Aquatic Division's Twilight Pricing will be ending Monday, Sept. 1, at
its aquatic facilities including the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland
Drive and the Outdoor Aquatic Center, 747 Kentucky St.
Twilight Pricing is discounted admission rates from 6 p.m. to close at the
swimming facilities. Those 5 to 17 years of age will be admitted for only
$1, while those 18 years of age or older are admitted for only $2.
Also, the Summer Swing of Savings promotion at Eagle Bend Golf Course, 1250
E. 902 Road, will end Sunday, August 31.
The Summer Swing of Savings is discounted rounds of golf during. Between 2
and 5 p.m., Monday through Sunday, 18 holes of golf is only $25 and includes
cart rental equipped with Global Positioning System units.

ADULT FALL SPORTS REGISTRATION DEADLINES NEARS
LAWRENCE - The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department Adult Sports
Division's deadlines for Fall Adult Volleyball and Basketball Leagues are
fast approaching.
Volleyball registrations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept.
3, at the Community Building, 115 West 11th St., while basketball
registration will be accepted until Wednesday, Sept. 17. Individuals may
also register on the Parks and Recreation Department's online registration
website at www.lprd.org.
Leagues available for volleyball include: Coed (with divisions at various
skill/competition levels); Men's Power and Women's (with divisions at
various skill/competition levels). Leagues for basketball include Men's
(with divisions at various skill/competition levels).
The cost to participate in a Parks and Recreation Volleyball League is $175
per team and the cost for Basketball Leagues is $270 per team.
Registration forms, rosters and rules and regulations can be found on the
Lawrence Parks and Recreation's website at www.lprd.org. Individuals and
teams who are looking for additional players can view the "Available
Players" page, which is also found on the Adult Sports page on the web.
Basketball League play begins Oct. 18 and Volleyball League play begins
September 29.
